President Karol Nawrocki signed an amendment to the Medical Fund Act on Friday. Thanks to the changes in quota limits, about PLN 3.6 billion will be allocated to the National wellness Fund to finance kid benefits.
Nawrocki stressed that the fresh was partially prepared in cooperation with his law firm. He pointed out that if he vetoed it, the NFZ would have at its disposal over PLN 7.5 billion little to treat patients. The president criticized the government for delays and warned against treating patients as "political hostages": "I consistently urge the Prime Minister not to take patients hostage and wellness services not to throw them into political dispute," the president pointed out.
The president firmly stressed that he did not have and would not accept the privatisation of public hospitals and to receive a wage increase for minimum medical staff.
