On air, Polsat News, the president replied to the question of how he would behave about the Parliament's law on the position of the closest person. As experts point out, the task is simply a de facto copy of the regulations drawn from the alleged partnership law. However, it has a changed name which may mislead and propose that the bill is not in any way an effort to force anti-marriage legislation.
President Karol Nawrocki said straight that he did not support the bill prepared in specified a form, and if it went to his desk, he would veto this solution. He pointed out that the bill was supported by far-left organizations promoting LGBT demands.
– I was afraid erstwhile I received this project, in which the social acceptance for this task was confirmed by 42 extremist organizations working for the sexual number community. I would like to resolve this issue, I say it sincerely, (...), but in order to solve this issue, 1 must decision distant from ideological discussion. We request to look at the uniqueness of marriage," he added.
He pointed out that if the draft law enshrined a "exceptional position of marriage" providing "reasonable solutions to financial, taxation issues which do not have the capacity to have specified relationships in matrimony and would not have all these extremist ideological themes," he would have "good will."
– I just don't know if this bill is going to end up like this. If not, I'll gotta veto it," the president said. “I wouldn’t want to be the 1 who laid the foundations for the possible adoption of children by gay couples in 20 years,” he said.
