President Nawrocka after the summit of the Bucharest Nine: NATO must show unity

Alliance unity and increased defence spending are the main conclusions following Bucharest 9 Summit. president Karol Nawrocki stressed that the July NATO summit in Ankara should send a clear signal about the political and military strength of the Alliance.

The leaders of the east states of the NATO flank agreed that Russia remains the biggest threat to the safety of the region. The declaration adopted besides highlighted the request to further support Ukraine and to strengthen transatlantic cooperation with the United States.

NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte pointed out that allies must increase their defence capabilities and make the arms industry. He besides reminded of NATO's commitment to spending 5% of GDP on safety by 2035.

President Nawrocki pointed out Russia's expanding activity at the east flank and hybrid activities in the Baltic. “The unity of the Alliance is simply a moral work today,” stressed the President.
