President Macron at the office of the large East of France

The president of France paid a visit to the office of the Grand Orient Masonic Lodge on Cadet Street in Paris, giving a speech there on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the large East of France. Although Emmanuel Macron described himself as a “profan” outside of the masonry, his speech was interpreted as a tribute to this mysterious environment. During the speech, addressed to “respected large masters” and guests specified as deputies and prefects, the president utilized Masonic language, which drew attention despite his message of non- belonging to this organization.
