President Karol Nawrocki is not going to leave miners on the ice. As announced by the presidential draft amendment of the Mining Act, extending the social protection package besides to private mine workers, will be sent to the Sejm on Tuesday.

The government's draft amendment to the bill submitted on the presidential desk in December had clear shortcomings," recalled Minister Karol Rabenda at the Chancellery of President. The changes proposed by the president are intended to remove a regulatory gap which originally included only companies with State Treasury participation. Thanks to additional records, private-sector miners will be able to number on the same mechanisms as in state mines: mining leave, severance and allocation to another plants.

As highlighted by the President's Chancellery, the exclusion of private mines – including PG Silesia, whose miners protested in December in consequence to the announcement of dismissals – was unfair due to the fact that their workers are equally risking wellness and life.
