The leaders expressed "deep disappointment" by the Georgian government's decision to suspend accession negotiations with the EU by 2028. "This decision is simply a major blow to the aspirations of the Georgian people" - stressed Presidents: Poland - Andrzej Duda, Estonia - Alar Karis, Latvia - Edgars Rinkeviczs and Lithuania - Gitanas Nauseda. They pointed out that the parliamentary elections held in Georgia on 26 October "were marked by serious controversy, which calls into question the legitimacy of the recently elected parliament".
