President's appeal resonates. Denmark announces more spending on the military

With the Russian economy shifting into war mode, as well as ambitious plans for a European defence manufacture strategy, Europe and NATO request to increase production and modernization capabilities for weapons and munitions. The fresh declaration by the Danish prime minister and defence minister to increase military spending to 2.4 percent of GDP fits into this narrative. This means that just under $6 billion in additional funds will be allocated to the Danish Armed Forces (Danish: Forsvaret) by 2028.
