President Karol Nawrocki listened to the voice of thousands of Poles and rejected the Act on the position of the nearest person. It's all you!

Ladies and gentlemen,

We got it!

President Karol Nawrocki just vetoed the law on the position of the closest individual in the relation and the agreement on a common life!

The bill, which, under a changed, innocent sounding name, was to introduce into Polish law an institution that was in fact the imitation of marriage, will not enter into force!

I would like this message to scope you present first – and I would like it to scope you with large gratitude.

Because this triumph is to a large degree your merit.

Let me remind you how long we've come together.

As shortly as the first announcements of the introduction into Polish law of partnerships appeared at the beginning of the current governing coalition's word of office, we knew that we could not waste time. Then we started the action. "Stop Partnerships", in which we called for respect for the Polish Constitution and social governance and called for vetoing all provisions aimed at legalising partnerships or "single-sex marriages" in Poland.

For the next months, the bill changed its form and even its name – first it was mentioned straight about the partnerships, then about the "status of the nearest person". The addressee of our appeal was besides changed erstwhile Karol Nawrocki replaced Andrzej Duda at the office of the president of Poland. However, 1 thing has not changed: our determination to defend matrimony as a union between a female and a man, protected by Article 18 of the Polish Constitution.

And the determination of people like you – due to the fact that you, in support of our actions, made a truly nationwide appeal.

Under the petition “Stop the Partnerships” we managed to gather more than 62 500 signatures. We filed them personally at the President's Chancellery, calling on the president to reject the bill.

It reminded us that giving couples – especially single sex – the privileges due to matrimony only to date would be a real discrimination against their spouses, and weakening the institution of matrimony during the worsening demographic crisis would be an action straight against the future of our Homeland.

And president Karol Nawrocki heard this will of Poles.

In today's communication, he utilized a akin argument:

I do not agree with the introduction of the back door of the partnerships to replace or replace the institution of matrimony – the president of Nawrocka justified his decision. – Marriage, preferably safeguarding the sustainability of the family, cannot become 1 of many equivalent options offered by the state administration. The household is simply a community of fundamental importance for the endurance of the nation.

I am besides convinced that it is thousands of signatures, letters and votes that have reached the president through our petition that have made it clear that Poles do not want our country to enter the road that another Western European countries have already passed.

And we know this way besides well, which I have written to you many times, based on the examples of European countries.

But today - We stopped it.

Thanks to your support, matrimony in Poland remains a union of a female and a man, protected by our Constitution and there are no imitations of it in the legal system.

On behalf of the full squad – thank you very much!

However, I would like this joy not to put our defender down.

Because although we are celebrating today, I must inform you sincerely: this is surely not the end of this fight.

And we – the Center of Life and household and our Sympathics – are 1 of the most crucial forces shaping its next fronts.

And even our opponents see it!

It was written straight on Wyborcza.pl that it was the run of the Centre of Life and household and made under our appeal over 60,000 of your signatures were 1 of the main reasons why the president did not decide to sign the Act on the position of the nearest person.

It is hard to confirm better that our common commitment truly affects the course of events, since even left-wing journalists indicate us as 1 of the most serious obstacles in the LGBT environment to their "martial by institutions".

Moreover, the law on the position of the closest individual was just 1 of the tools that the ruling authorities effort to disassemble the institution of marriage. We are inactive dealing with another equally dangerous actions, frequently without the usual legislative path:

  • Administrative courts – citing EU jurisprudence – have already ordered Polish civilian law offices to transcribe abroad matrimony acts of same-sex persons, beginning the way for designation of "single-sex marriages" by judgments, without the participation of the legislator;
  • The rulers besides change the models of civilian position documents, so that alternatively of the words "woman" and "man", they contain the word "married first" and "married second".

This is clear: even after today's veto, the another side will not lay down their weapons.

On the contrary, we have reason to believe that now that 1 road has been closed, they will look for others with more determination. I anticipate further attempts to be made by the litigated failures: fresh draft laws, subsequent judgments of courts, administrative decisions or pressures from the EU institutions, which they claim Poland must be bent against.

But the goal will stay the same, regardless of the name of the next project: Gradually aligning single-sex and concubine relationships with marriage, until the full right to adopt children and access unethical procedures specified as in vitro or surrogacy.

Therefore today's triumph must not be a minute of remainder for us, but a signal for further action.

We already know that our common commitment can truly change things. This was successful on the law on the position of the nearest person. I believe profoundly that it will win besides this time erstwhile the rulers will effort again – and most likely try. We will continue:

  • monitor and announce any effort to introduce partnerships or "single-sex marriages" through the back door – through court judgments, authoritative decisions or amendments to civilian position documents;
  • involve experts Centre of Life and household and Ordo Iuris Institute in public debate, showing the real consequences of specified changes for Polish families;
  • build a affirmative communicative about marriage – among another things, through our website ISlubujeCi.pl devoted to matrimony as a permanent union of women and men, as well as further campaigns prepared by us, about which more – soon;
  • present on the streets of Polish cities – during the Marches for Life and household and another initiatives recalling the value of matrimony and family.

But present we request even more decisive action.

That's why we're starting this fall with a run on a matrimony that hasn't been in the past of the Life and household Center.

We are fighting this multiple force due to the fact that we know that present the defence of matrimony as a permanent and faithful union between a female and a man is simply a fundamental condition for the endurance of our Homeland.

We want to show Poles – and especially young people who are just ahead of the decision to start a household – that marriage, precisely as described in Article 18 of the Constitution: the union of a female and a man, open to the reception and upbringing of children and fulfilling his natural functions, is an essential foundation of social order.

For many young people, matrimony has become nothing more than a meaningless part of paper present – due to the fact that besides many of them have succumbed to propaganda, the intent of which was and inactive is to dismantle the community completely, and by its overthrow the demolition of the family.

We can't agree to that. We want to reconstruct the knowing of matrimony in Polish society according to the Constitution – as a foundation on which you can not only safely build mature love and rise children, but above all make a lasting and risk-resistant community.

None of this would have been possible without your support.

Therefore, today, on the day of our common victory, I ask you for more than just joy. I besides ask you to stay with us in the next installment of this fight – due to the fact that it will definitely come.

Already now I am asking you to support the run to defend the matrimony with which we want to launch in a twelve weeks. To be effective, we must spend hundreds of thousands of gold.

I support the continued defence of marriage

I know it's not the first time the ruling government loses a run-in with the public, and I know it's not the first time they're going to effort to go back to their plan in a different way. That is why I want to be honest with you right now, on this large day of success: we cannot let go now.

We must be ready for the upcoming challenges – and most likely faster than any of us would like.

But today, just for a moment, let's let ourselves be satisfied.

President Karol Nawrocki heard the voice of Poles. He besides heard your voice.

Marriage – the union of female and man, the foundation of household and social order – remains protected present by Polish law.

I thank you wholeheartedly for not being alone in this fight.
