Premiere! “Polish Monarchy” – a monumental work by prof. Grzegorz Kucharczyk
date:15 April 2025 Editor: Anna

"Nothing expresses the freedom of Poland as a monarchy and crown," writes an excellent historian and illustrious author prof. Grzegorz Kucharczyk in his latest book entitled "Polish Monarchy" (ed. Carefully published, richly illustrated reading – a memorabilia of the large millennium of the Polish Crown, is an invaluable origin of knowledge, strength and inspiration for the Polish people, in order to find determination, strengthen the spirit of combat and remind us of what is most precious.

There would not be a kingdom in Poland if not for baptism Lives I and the establishment in 1000 of the hierarchical order of the Polish Church – writes prof. Grzegorz Kucharczyk. The unification of the Polish lands under the king's scepter by Bolesław Chrobry in 1025 was evidence of the size of the state and its sovereignty. From the beginning, our rulers, just as their subjects, were oriented towards cooperation with papal Rome, and the function of the Church as guarantor of not only the spreading and deepening of the Gospel teaching, but besides national unity was never undermined. Until the communist times and to this day, erstwhile the authorities declare explicitly that they will “saw” Catholics.

There is so much talk about democracy present – we fight for democracy, we defend democracy, we consider it to be the accomplishment of modern societies, while the conflict against the communist government was at stake and there is inactive the conflict to last the "baptized nation" – the sign of sovereignty and unity of the nation. prof. Kucharczyk's book is an excellent tool for strengthening patriotism and the key to knowing our mission in the world. It is simply a complement to cognition about the Polish state, which for over 800 years was a monarchy. The author, who speaks well the literary language, synthesizes the reign of our kings from Chrobry to the Kingdom of Congress. And even after the 20th century, prof. Kucharczyk rightly states: "We had the happiness of surviving in a time erstwhile our community was strengthened by 2 uncoroned kings of Poland – Blessed Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński, Polish Primate, and St John Paul II."

Monarchy seems to be an outdated strategy of government, although not everyone thinks so. On the another hand, the top times and top accomplishments of our nation are due to periods of reign of prominent crowned rulers. How good to read about it... A strong monarchy guaranteed the safety and well-being of citizens and the improvement of the country erstwhile modern democratic systems are highly easy manipulated. They can besides rapidly turn into tyranny or weaken the state; this was erstwhile the case with the celebrated nobility democracy. What about democracy today? Reading this book, we begin to dream: there is nothing like a good and just king, and if not a king, it is at least the president and Prime Minister. But as it turns out, they are even more hard than the righteous king.
