Research shows that the situation of women, in terms of many economical indicators, is constantly improving. More and more women decide to, for example, hire or run their own company. The participation of women in management positions and boards of listed companies is besides increasing. At the same time, Poles can benefit from government support that facilitates their return to the labour market. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki was a guest of the 1st legislature “The large Heart of European Entrepreneurship. Polka – A unique European woman” held in Kępno. The head of government presented the awards to the Leaders of Entrepreneurship.

In Poland, women's participation in the labour marketplace has increased from 55 percent to over 60 percent in respective years. "This is simply a large success," said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. “For me, Polka is synonymous with entrepreneurship. I see clearly how you take matters into your own hands," he explained.
The head of government congratulated all women who, in various fields – professional, home, work-life balance – always effort to work out the best, the most beautiful and most important. "My task is to support women on various sections of private and professional life," said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
Ladies on the labour market
Over the last 7 years, the rate of growth in the presence of active women compared to the working age population in Poland has been importantly higher than the EU average. In addition, in 2022 the share of women who ran their own company, in the full population of employees, was 13.1 percent. By comparison, it was 5.6 percent in Germany and 9.3% in France.
In Poland we besides have quite a few women in managerial positions. In the 4th fourth of 2022 there were 42.5 percent. This gave 2 the highest score in the European Union, after Latvia, which reached 44.8%.
According to Eurostat, our country is besides ranked 4th among EU countries in terms of the lowest sex pay gap. Poland is ahead of all Nordic countries, the Netherlands and France. In 2015-2021t, the wage gap in our country decreased from 7.3% to 4.5%. At that time the EU fell from 15.5% to 12.7%.
Government support for women
Polish women can benefit from various government programs. Thanks to them, they can decide whether they want to return to work or take care of the kid after birth. To this end, we finance the improvement and operation of nurseries. This causes that there are more places for children up to the age of 3 in municipalities, and local governments can afford to welcome the youngest to the facilities. This allows Poles to return to work faster, without crucial expenses from their home budget.
- "Maluch+" is simply a program that allows to increase childcare facilities to 3 years of age. This allows women to get back to work faster.
- "Family 500+" is additional financial support for Polish families. It allows parents to buy clothes, school supplies, and toys for their children.
- "Family Care Capital" is simply a support that has families for the second and each kid from 12 to 35 months of age. This makes it easier for parents to cope with increased expenses.
- “Good Start” – annual, one-time support for students starting the school year. Thanks to it, parents can buy children books, school supplies, and technological aids.
- “Mama+” – the program supports people who have raised at least 4 children and have not taken up work.
