We live in the flood of public space a lying and aggressive propaganda of the bander gravers, who, with the stubbornness of the maniac, proclaim the detached the thesis of the “herojs” of the CNS-UPA (Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists-Ukrainian Pows dances Army).
At the same time, many publications of Polish-language pseudohistorians telling baskets are published about the alleged “Polish-Ukrainian War” (it is most likely only in their heads) as a substitute for the genocide carried out by Ukrainian chauvinists, the real pearl is the monograph entitled “The Curses of the 3rd Republic of Poland.
The author, PhD in humanities in the past of Krzysztof Żabierek, as you can learn from the information contained on the cover, is an experienced scientist, has already published respective publications, including: "The Zabaykalskie Uprising 1866" (Brodnica 2017), "Grod what Semper was Fidelis. The War past of Lviv from 1939 to 1944" (Brodnica 2019). Contrary to the political correctness presently promoted, as well as the highly unworthy behaviour of any of the Polish political elites (e.g. the order issued in 2017 by Antoni Macierewicz, then Minister of National Defense, removing the plaque from the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in honor of the heroic defenders of Birczy), Żabierek decided to make a summary description of the victims made on the altar of his homeland by soldiers and militias defending Poles against criminals from the UPA band. The book was published in 2025 by Wydawnictwo wWrawo.pl, with 423 pages. Its structure consists of six chapters, introduction, criticism of sources, bibliography and annex containing statistic of crimes committed in the second half of 1944 in the Rzeszowski Voivodeship, a table with a list of soldiers killed or murdered by bandiers, as well as a unique collection of photographs of soldiers and militias from those years. It is worth noting that the publication was mostly based on archival materials from the Institute of National Memory in Warsaw, the Central Military Archive in Warsaw, the Central Museum of Prisoners of War in Opole-Łambinowice, the Archive of the Union of Dark Soldiers of Poland.

The author besides utilized many publications that addressed the subject, although unfortunately there were no outstanding works by Dr. Artur Brożyniak or Prof. Andrzej Zapalowski. The first chapter entitled “Before Lublin and Podkarpacie ignited” presents a historical image showing the improvement of Ukrainian terrorism during the interwar period. A very interesting and useful legal analysis of the nomenclature applied to UPA members (soldiers? guerrillas? Bandits? criminals?) contains chapter two. The author, based on decrees and laws from both the interwar, planet War II and the post-1945 period, proved that "in expressing respect for the victims of the chauvinist ideology of the CNS-UPA, regardless of their social, spiritual or national origin, their oppressors deserve only the name of bandits and war criminals..." [1].
It is hard to disagree with the author's opinion here, as in Poland the word "soldier" or "partisan" has a clear affirmative connotation, so it is absolutely unacceptable to usage them in relation to Ukrainian deviants who commit gruesome crimes on defenseless civilians, including violent rapes and murders of Polish girls. The 3rd chapter, in which the Author included passages of various papers describing the “execution” of Ukrainian chauvinists, besides includes the following sentences: “We are now surviving in the time of worshiping average Poles, who, erstwhile witnessing the murders and rapes carried out in the name of flagism, alternatively of virtually laying their head under the Ukrainian axe, decided to stand up for their families and possessions. (...) Taking action to defend Polish people from cruel death and to safeguard the integrity of the borders of the Polish state was the national work of all Pole, regardless of political views...” [2]. It is hard to argue with the Author, especially erstwhile the plaque for the heroic defenders of Bircza is being removed from the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in 1993, with the impertinent demands of the Ukrainian side that the Polish authorities renew the act on graves and war cemeteries and forest and building regulations.
In the next chapter, the author collected an highly moving collection of memories and accounts of participants and witnesses fighting UPA bands. The most valuable chapter is surely chapter five, which includes biographical notes of 467 million dead and murdered by the uplifters. The last chapter deals with contemporary Polish-Ukrainian relations, focusing on possible affirmative and negative scenarios. It says: “Until there is simply a change in Poland to remove the “ministers of the Ukrainian people” from power regardless of their organization affiliation, it seems empty to anticipate a emergence from their knees to the glorifiers of the murderers of our ancestors...” [3].
Thanking the author for creating a very valuable and interesting publication, we powerfully urge reading this book to all lovers of the past of the East Kres, in peculiar the families of the victims of genocide made by Ukrainian chauvinists from 1939 to 1947. We are convinced that it should be included in all end collection alongside the works of well-known scientists, specified as: Dr. Lucyna Kulińska, Dr. Maria Jazowicz, Prof. Leszek S. Jankiewicz, Prof. Leszek Jazowicz, Prof. Stanisław Nicieja, Prof. Włodzimierz Osadczy, Prof. Czesław Partacz, Wiktor Poliszczuk, Prof. Andrzej Zapalowski, Dr. Artur Brożyniak, Mieczysław Samborski, Dr. Tadeusz Samborski, Dr. Michał Siekierka and many others.
