At the end of January, the Turkish company announced the signing of a memorandum of agreement on the acquisition of a control package in the Romanian company Automecanica, as reported, among others, by [portal defence News](https://www.defensenews.com/global/europe/2026/01/29/tokar-moves-to-buy-romanian-military-vehicles-partner-automecanica/). Otokar, according to him, will get 96.77% of the shares, which is expected to happen at the end of April of this year after obtaining the essential approvals of Romanian offices. The acquisition of Automecanyki will be handled by the local joint venture company of Turkish company Otokar Land Systems. The first payment is to be EUR 5 million.
