On September 15, 2025, a ceremony ceremony took place in the parish church in Salvatore, Cracow, and then in the cemetery there, a late deceased prominent artist and an honest, always active, courageous patriot.
Ewa Barańska was born in 1944 in Lviv, then under German occupation. Shortly after her birth, the Nazi occupier succeeded Soviet. And this one, as we know, came there with a mission to rend Poland this 1 of the most Polish cities. Lviv – 1 of the capitals of Poland, for many years being the first centre of Polish culture. Ewa Barańska has just come from a household that has been co-founding Lviv for centuries. Her grandpa built the first power station in this town, which was then the director, and co-created the Lviv tram network. Among the ancestors of Ewa Barańska were creators of Lviv culture and science, including people associated with the world-famous Lviv mathematical school. However, as early as 3 years of age, with those household members who had survived russian and German aggression and occupation, she had to leave her hometown. At that time, she went to Krakow, where she graduated with honours first from the Academy of Fine Arts and then, besides with honours, from the Academy of Fine Arts. In Krakow, she besides married Attila Jamzarek, with whom the inseparable couple of closest and highly creative friends constituted until the death of her husband, who took place six years ago.
Together with her husband, she was the author of more than a 100 interior projects for public buildings – museums, sanatoriums, hospitals, universities, banks, offices. Always close to the Church, they engaged their talents socially for the sake of temples and another sacred spaces. They besides served schools in sacrifice, and they gave large services to the communities of independency opposition and to the Solidarity Unions. For its independent artistic activity, conducted after the introduction of martial law, Ewa Barańska – Jamzardzak was awarded by president Andrzej Duda with the Officer's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta. In fresh decades, she has received much more - state, union, environmental and hierarchy of the Church.
In her very busy life, she besides dealt with didactics and image painting. Her works were exhibited in Krakow, Warsaw, fresh York, their reproductions were published by publications from respective countries. They were besides included in Polish newspapers and magazines. The widest circles are known for their illustrations, published in White Raven's books and periodicals specified as "WPiS". Anyone who met with them must have remembered her unique, unforgivable style, in which the eloquent perception of the physionomy of known characters was frequently accompanied by an full arsenal of attributes. Together, it made the satirical image or drawing deepened, a communicative expressing complex ideas and multiple narratives. many works by this artist were simply called caricatures, and in fact were full stories, frequently – past lessons.
In Ewa Barańska – Jamzardzak Poland lost an tireless patriot, a large artist, a good, highly self-giving man. However, the deceased left behind a vast legacy of works, thoughts, life’s thoughts, and perfect guidelines that will undoubtedly bear large fruit in our nation and country.
