The Warsaw Uprising became a permanent part of the past of the nation and the state, while leaving a feeling of pride and unfulfilled hope in the memory and minds of Poles. Since 1944, subsequent generations of Poles each year experience the size of this event, as well as the tremendous sacrifices and casualties of the inhabitants of the capital. Never in the past of wars and national uprisings has there been so much heroism, courage in combat, but besides so large biological and material losses suffered in specified a short time – 63 days.
The uprising was the most spectacular Polish national event not only in planet War II. Although it ended with military and political defeat, the death of at least 180 1000 people and the complete demolition of the capital, the determination and heroism of its participants and the civilian population of Warsaw gave the Polish nation moral strength for decades to come. The large sacrifice of blood and suffering was besides the argument that undoubtedly co-decided Poland's return to the map of Europe between Oder and Bug.
Today's anniversary leads us to learn from history. Let the message and the belief that 3 things are the best warrant of the safety of the Polish state: a strong and modern army, strong and certain alliances, and a strong and conscious society. I search these priorities consistently and with determination as the Minister of National Defence. The Warsaw Uprising was fought by the National Army, the National Armed Forces, the People's Army and another insignificant formations and tens of thousands of young people without military preparation. The capital had its office in the Peasants Battalion office and its safety division. The BCh office issued a conspiracy press and in consultation with the AK office donated food to residents. People from the Podwarszaw region, incapable to armedly aid the fighters, were the first to make an initiative to organize material assistance for the capital. After the fall of the Uprising, the village supported 500,000 displaced from Warsaw. full villages were united with the insurgents, admired their bravery, and tried to bring aid in various ways.
I respectfully bow my head to all the Heroes of the Warsaw Uprising. You are a symbol of the steadfast determination of Poles in the pursuit of independency and freedom. The personification of boundless valor and sacrifice. You're our patriotic teachers.
