The formation of Hanwha WB Advanced System

On 2 September, during the global Defence manufacture Salon in Kielce, a contract was signed concerning the establishment of a Polish-Korean joint venture. Hanwha WB Advanced strategy is expected to produce ammunition for HOMAR-K launchers introduced into SZRP and make fresh missiles. The ceremony took place in the presence of representatives of Polish and Korean authorities.

Piotr Wojciechowski, president and CEO of WB Electronics, from the Korean side of Jae-il Son, president and CEO of Hanwha Aerospace signed on the act of setting up the fresh company.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Deputy Minister and State Secretary at the Ministry of National Defence Paweł Bejda and Head of the Armed Forces Agency Gen. Artur Kuptel. South Korea was represented by Deputy Minister of National Defence Hyunki Cho and Deputy Minister of Guckcheol Bang of the Korean Defence acquisition Agency (DAPA).

The establishment of a fresh Polish-Korean peculiar intent company, whose task is to manufacture arms, is of historical importance. Until now, advanced ammunition has been purchased straight from abroad suppliers and will now be produced in plants in Poland.

– This is simply a serious investment. The construction costs of the plant exceed PLN billion. The investment will make fresh jobs and we will besides get a number of technologies. The joint venture is built on a partnership basis and as partners we will jointly implement projects," said Piotr Wojciechowski, president of the WB Group.

– The aim is to increase safety, as missiles will be produced in the country. Ammunition will be entirely produced in Poland, with the participation of not only the WB Group, but besides a immense number of local entities. Part of the task is besides the improvement and implementation of fresh missiles, according to the needs of the Ministry of Defence," added Piotr Wojciechowski.

– This partnership in Poland will enable the production of rockets for the equipment introduced by the Armed Forces of Poland, which will be colonized in cooperation with the Polish Chunmoo strategy manufacture – known here as HOMAR-K – said Jaeil Son, president of Hanwha Aerospace.

– Hanwha WB Advanced strategy will make the anticipation of developing fresh generation ammunition together, protecting Poland's needs and at the same time building export capabilities to allied countries.
