Thanks to F-35 aircraft, our armed forces are undergoing a real technological revolution – said Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in Łask during the authoritative F-35 admission to the Polish Army. The machines were given the name Husarz, and the godmothers were Paulina Kosiniak-Kamish, wife of the head of the MON and Captain Magdalena Boryc-Krakovian, widow of the colonel Maciej Krakowian.
– It is simply a peculiar day for Poland and for the safety of our citizens. By acquiring multitasking aircraft F-35 The 5th generation Husar of Poland becomes stronger, more modern and safer – said president Karol Nawrocki in 32 Tactical Aviation Base in Grace during the ceremony of authoritative acceptance of F-35 aircraft to Polish armed forces. “There is simply a breakthrough technological leap in our eyes, which will change the capabilities of the Polish armed forces for years”, added the President.
The military superior indicated that the F-35 was more than a multitasking aircraft, calling the device an advanced combat strategy platform. He stressed that thanks to the ability to collect and exchange data and to cooperate with another combat measures, the aircraft importantly increases the operational capabilities of the armed forces. According to Nawrocki, the acquisition of F-35 strengthens Poland's security, increases aviation combat capabilities and strengthens the country's function in NATO structures.
The president together with Władysław Kosiniak-Kamish – Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defence and General Wiesław Kukuła – Head of the General Staff of the Polish Army and another dignitaries watched Hussars arrive to 32 BLT. According to prior announcement, Polish F-35 performed a unique flight present as part of the event called “Welcome to Poland”.
The aircraft took off from Grace and headed north, where they made a low flight over Westerplatte. They then moved towards the capital – after 10 o'clock they could be seen on the Vistula River close the Citadel, and shortly later they appeared to the inhabitants of Krakow. The last city over which they flew before returning to Grace was Łódź.

Revolution in the Polish Army
The head of the MON stressed that this is simply a strategical day in Polish history. He besides reminded of the contract on AH-64 Apache helicopters, which together with F-35 make defence and deterrent possible of Poland. – In combination with anti-aircraft defense, unmanned systems and another modern equipment, they form 1 coherent system. This is the doctrine of the functioning of the modern army," stressed the head of the MON.
As he pointed out, artificial intelligence, long-range systems, drones and anti-drone systems must cooperate with conventional elements of the armed forces: tanks, artillery, aircraft and helicopters. – However, the most crucial remains soldiers of the Polish Army, who can exploit the capabilities of the most modern equipment – stressed the Deputy Prime Minister.
The Minister of Defence besides stressed that Poland's strategical goal is to build the strongest army in Europe by 2030. As he pointed out, the program of modernization of the armed forces involves expanding the army's numbers to 300,000 soldiers and the creation of 200 1000 high-precision reserves, which is expected to give a full possible of half a million soldiers. In Kosiniak-Kamish's opinion, 1 of the foundations of Poland's safety remains the alliance with the United States. He stressed that thanks to his cooperation with the USA Poland is developing its operational capabilities, conducting joint exercises and strengthening its position in NATO.
Two-generation connection
The F-35 stationed in 32 BLT (it will yet be home to 16 of the 32 Husars ordered) form 11 tactical aviation squadrons. At the same time, grace remains home to 4th generation F-16 aircraft. – In order to combine these capabilities efficiently, we must first of all start making joint school flights and training. Let us remind you that the first 3 F-35 aircraft for Polish Air Force arrived in Grace on 22 May. At the end of 2026 14 ordered machines will be stationed in Poland. The next year we will receive 12 more aircraft – including 8 which are presently utilized for training Polish pilots and technicians in the US. The next deliveries are due until 2030. The second Hussar Squadron will be stationed at 21th Tactical Aviation Base in Swidwin, where presently Construction of infrastructure is underway for those 5th generation aircraft.
F-35A Lightning II is simply a 5th generation multi-purpose combat aircraft equipped with stealth technology, advanced sensors and data exchange systems. For Poland, its acquisition means a leaping increase in aviation combat capabilities, expanding interoperability with NATO's most crucial allies and the ability to operate in heavy defended airspace of the opponent.
