Operational commander of the General of Arms Maciej Klisz decided to suspend the search for objects that may have fallen into Poland during the invasion of Russian drones on the night of 9th to 10th September. The ground search and rescue squad from the beginning of the mission was formed by soldiers of the 2nd Lublin Territorial Defence Brigade.

Up to 150 territorials from the Lublin brigade participated in the search until yesterday. “Every day they sought not only the remains of drones, but besides the means utilized to neutralize them,” explains Colonel Jacek Goryszewski, spokesperson for the Operational Command of the RSZ. On the another hand, Gen. Guns Maciej Klisz, operational commander, does not regulation out that the search mission will be resumed if further analysis of available data indicates specified a need.
Establishment of a military search and rescue team was a consequence to multiple violations by Russian drones of Polish airspace on the night of 9th to 10th September. 21 drones flew into the country. any of them were shot down by Polish and allied armed forces. Others who did not pose a serious threat themselves fell to the ground. The Ministry of National Defence had no uncertainty that the permanent authorities of the Russian Federation were behind the attack. This has resulted in NATO launching Article 4 of the North Atlantic Treaty. shortly Czechs, Swedes, Dutch and another allies declared support for Poland, sending their soldiers and military equipment to the east flank of NATO.
In the following weeks, remains of flying objects, shot down or broken down drones, were found in the Lublin, Masovian, Świętokrzyski, Łódź and Warmian-Masurian voivodships. “The goal of Russia is to test Polish and Natov safety systems and destruct social cohesion in Poland, Europe and NATO, undermine the credibility of the army, spread misinformation, rise anxiety,” commented Deputy Minister of defence Cezary Tomczyk in September.
During the attack of Russian drones, among others, the home in the village of Wyryki was destroyed. The injured household received support from the local government and soldiers of the OT brigade, and its home will be rebuilt at the expense of the state. In addition, Ministry of Defence offered additional assistance to victims in the amount of PLN 200,000.
