Leading the fire of a platoon of tanks in defence – specified competition was faced present by participants on the 3rd day of the utility-fighting competition in Świętoszów. After fierce competition, Leopard crews from the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade turned out to be the best. However, in the general classification they proceed to lead the battleships from the crane in Abrams. There's another competition tonight.
Today the camp in Świętoszow yet sounded canonade. Tankers active in competition for the title of the best platoon of Polish armored troops They faced a competition that was to direct fire in defense. Individual teams would go out in turn to the scope and fire the shields that appeared in front of them.
– Objectives were imitation of tanks, bewups, but besides infantry divisions. They appeared at a distance of about 2 kilometres, but in order to make it more hard for crews to carry out the task, they were halved from the shields utilized during the standard training," explains Major Konrad Stefanowicz, Commandant of the Leopard Training Centre, a facility that on behalf of 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade Keeps the competition under control.
They fired on the crew shields from both tank cannons and device guns. Each squad had to usage 20 first and 800 second kind ammunition. The commanders of individual platoons were liable for coordinating the firing. That's what they were setting up sectors and giving commands to open fire. “We awarded the large goal with 3 points. For hitting the tiny 1 we awarded half a point – says Major Stefanowicz. As she adds, the competition was very fierce. The score ended after 3 p.m.
The best shooters turned out to be hosts on Leopardach 2PLwho have somewhat overtaken plutonium 1st Battalion of Tanks from Crane The Abrams. The 3rd place was occupied by battleships from 1st Tank Battalion of Morag on K2 tanks. In the general classification, after 3 days of competitions, soldiers from Żurawica proceed to lead, in front of platoons from Morąga and Świętaszów. “The differences between the different teams have, however, decreased considerably,” admits Major Stefanowicz. And this is simply a passionate finish.
Next competition's in a fewer hours. The competition participants will again face the challenge of driving fire, only under cover of night. Tomorrow, in turn, they are waiting to be driven by fire in the attack, yet simulated tank fighting at a large distance.
The goal of the competition is to check the training of crews, but besides to compare the capabilities of tanks, which constitute the strength of Polish armored troops. Completion of the task – Friday.
