On 22 March in the election to the Rhineland-Palatinate Landtag won the CDU, gaining 31% of the vote (+3.3 pp. against the 2021 result). The second place was taken by the ruling SPD with 25.9% support (-9.8 pp.), reaching its worst score in the past of this landa. The 3rd place was AfD, for which 19.5% of voters voted (+11.2 pp.). The Greens, who had achieved 7.9% (-1.4 pp.) entered the landtag. The electoral threshold (5%) did not exceed the co-founding FDP coalition, winning 2.1% of the vote (–3.4 pp.).
