Distribution of the 54-page “Safety Guide” via the Polish Post began on Monday 22 December. The first copies of the survey with instructions on how to behave in crisis situations during peace and war are to be put in the hands of the recipients by 2 January 2026. The shipping operation is expected to take over a month.
Security guide we were created to be prepared for any crisis situation. Not only during war but besides during fire, flood, hurricane, natural disaster, terrorist threat or another situations in which we must evacuate. It is simply a joint task of the Ministry of Interior and Administration, the Ministry of National Defence and the Government safety Centre. "Every safety Guide is simply a real tool that increases the level of preparation of citizens, Poles and Poles for crises – that's why we want everyone to have a reliable origin of information at their fingertips" - emphasised the Ministry of abroad Affairs.
In December, 17 million copies of the survey were printed. Yesterday, as the ministry informs, the distribution, which is handled by the Polish Post Office, began. The Ministry of the Interior states that the brochure is to be sent first to the voivodships covered by the programme “The Tartar East”Lublin, Podlasie and Warmia-Masurian. And the first copies will be in the hands of residents from border areas with Russia and Belarus until 2 January 2026. According to the Ministry of abroad Affairs, the shipment of the 54-page publication should be completed by the end of January 2026.
The “Safety Guide” has been available online for half of the year.. It is available on the government website and on the public administration websites. There is besides a paper version written in Braille.
The Safety Guide provides guidance on emergency behaviour, from natural disasters to biological and chemical hazards to drone attacks or a fewer days of power outage. The guide besides contains instructions for first aid and a list of emergency numbers. Thanks to simple language and affordable graphics, it is easy to absorb for everyone. In the preparation of the guide, experts from Ukraine were consulted, as well as Scandinavian experiences related to crisis response.
The guide is divided into 2 main chapters on preparation (e.g. home, car, animals, evacuation backpack) and respond to an emergency or crisis. In turn, the subsections discuss details of how to deal with circumstantial situations, specified as fires, floods, long-term power outages, air strikes, chemical or atomic threats, terrorist, misinformation and cybercrime.
