**Wojciech Czuchnowski: Gazeta Wyborcza:“Ambassador and lie detector”**
“The Polish ambassador to NATO was already connected with Antoni Macierewicz before the mission did not pass the polygraph study, our sources in the service say. The MFA emphasises that Tomasz Szatkowski was not cancelled, but that on 31 May he "completed his mission". Tomasz Szatkowski, associated with Antoni Macierewicz, was already the Polish ambassador to NATO, did not pass the survey on polygraphs before taking the mission - our sources in the service claim. Szatkowski confirms that the survey was, but denies that he did not pass it. The case of Shatkowski and researching him on the lie detector (the popular name of the vario-grafu) was described on Saturday on electoral.pl. We had previously learned what Tomasz Siemoniak (the current head of the Ministry of abroad Affairs and Service Coordinator) meant erstwhile on May 24 on TVN24 he said:_ Mr Szatkowski should never become an ambassador and should return to Warsaw as shortly as possible_. The Minister responded to the message by Andrzej Duda, who stated that the resignations of ambassadors (including Szatkowski) were not agreed, which he decided to cancel at the end of May. I'm amazed at the president. He has cognition on the part of 1 of the services and I am amazed that he is making any problem of it - said Siemoniak. According to him, the information that the services provided to the president "in the last fewer days" is "disqualifying for Shatkowski as an ambassador to NATO". The Minister added that "it is in the interests of the state to settle this substance calmly, silently, in substance". A public message in which 1 of the highest-ranked politicians of the government, including a minister overseeing peculiar services, makes specified accusations, is uncommon in political practice. In the end, Szatkowski is no longer an ambassador. The MFA stresses that it was not cancelled, but that on 31 May it "completed its mission". What did Siemoniak mean? The head of the Ministry of abroad Affairs is being questioned about this. However, we were able to learn a fewer details. First, the service the coordinator was talking about is the interior safety Agency. Secondly, although papers from the ABW were actually received recently, they came from 2019 erstwhile Tomasz Szatkowski was to take the position of Polish Ambassador to NATO. For this function he resigned from the position of Deputy Minister of National Defence, who had served since 2016, erstwhile the head of this ministry was Antoni Macierewicz. After the resignation of Macerewicz (January 2018) Szatkowski was 1 of his last people in the MON. Mariusz Błaszczak, who then led the resort, wanted to part with him. As we wrote in “Election”, the position of the ambassador to NATO for Shatkowski was part of an operation to calm the environment of Macerewicz outraged by the resignation, which could endanger to break up the PiS. Before the appointment of Shatkovski went to the President, the future ambassador had to undergo additional verification at the ABW. And here - as the sources of the election say - the problem started. Szatkowski died during the polygraph study._ And it wasn't that he was caught lying due to the fact that we didn't even get to that stage. During the study, he tried to usage techniques that disrupt the reading of the device_ explains 1 of our callers from the service. As he adds, these were methods that special-service agents are taught to “swind a polygraph”. These include stimulation of medicines that origin a disturbance in the heart rate, impaired blood force or breathing. It is on the combination of these parameters with circumstantial questions that the work of the "liability detector" is based on. As our origin reveals, Szatkowski was expected to answer questions about his work in the verification committee of the Military Information Services (in 2005-06 their solution was directed by Macierewicz), the removal of data about these services in 2007 and yet his function in think-tank called the National Centre for strategical Studies. NCSS was a right-wing foundation dealing with the army, defence manufacture and Polish cooperation with its allies. After Szatkowski, who was the first president of the Centre, Jacek Kotas, another man of Macerewicz, the deputy chief of the MON from 2006 to 07.0 of Kotasa's ties to the Russian mafia and military intelligence of the Russian Federation, wrote, among others, in “Election” Tomasz Friday.”
