Ladies and gentlemen,
In just a fewer days, 1 of the most crucial for us Christians, holidays of the year. Christmas is simply a peculiar time erstwhile our hearts turn more towards our fellow man, noticing – possibly more clearly than usual – God in another man.
Perhaps this is easier for us erstwhile we look forward to the coming of the Lord in specified a unique form: incarnate in a man, a small child, defenseless and weak as any of us.
Therefore, present I would like to share a certain joy with you, but I would besides like to invitation you to join us in bringing any good to others, waiting for the baby to be born.
You may remember that 3 years ago we supported dark children from the centre in the Podwarszawskie Laski. Thanks to your generosity you have succeeded in replacing the heating installation in the kindergarten for a newer and safer.
Now the center manager has shared large joy with us: the fresh boarding home for Boys in Laski is already standing! It is simply a modern, energy-efficient, and above all a safe home where boys will be able to learn self-reliance and work for themselves and others.
The decision is planned for January next year! It's only a month, and yet a fresh building, although beautiful and functional, stands... empty.
Therefore, I ask you to aid the children of the centre again so that their fresh home can service them with full equipped and comfortable interiors.
I'm not hiding that a fund-raiser is especially crucial to me, due to the fact that erstwhile upon a time, For 3 years I taught blind boys right in the old boarding house. I know perfectly well these interiors built in the early 20th century and I know that this decision is truly necessary.
The hotel in Laski is simply a truly peculiar place.
You are most likely not strangers, due to the fact that it has been operating for more than 100 years, and the second institution dealing so comprehensively with blind and visually impaired people at all phase of their lives is hard to find in Poland.
The caretakers working there supply comprehensive care for their subjects, from rehabilitation and revalidation classes to learning spatial orientation to learning self-service activities and preparing for an independent adult life.
What is most important, however, is to guarantee that children and young people can grow in a sense of safety and that they are crucial and loved. due to the fact that although there are kindergartens in Laski, and school, these are not only institutions, but a second home for their pupils.
As you can imagine, safety is the most crucial issue in working with blind people. Unfortunately, the old boarding home no longer meets standards, and its continued usage simply ceased to be possible.

Internat is simply a place where pupils spend most of the school year. It is in these interiors that they will learn what is the most crucial challenge for the blind: independence.
Therefore, it is so crucial to supply the boarding home with peculiar attention to their needs.
The fresh building was designed in the layout 6 education groupsof which each will have a space with its own kitchen, surviving rooms and a shared part. This will enable the boys to learn how to stand on their own and operate in the conditions as close as possible to home.
The guardians of the boys very much want each of them to feel at home in the boarding house, have at least a part of their own space. Therefore, basic equipment is needed for their rooms: beds with mattresses, desks, chairs.
Equally crucial is the equipment of common parts, dining rooms and bathrooms. So you request tables, chairs, paramedics.
These interiors will be a place for boys from Lasek to spend most likely a fewer years studying, but besides increasing up and preparing for adulthood. So each of the objects located there is more than just a thing – it is simply a tool of good that will aid them learn to live, grow in love and feel safe.
I say we all realize the large financial challenge of furnishing and equipping specified a building.
The employees of the Society of Blind Care, which manages the full facility, estimated the associated costs at over half a million PLN.
Such an amount is evidently beyond our reach, but We would like to support this noble work by donating PLN 700,000 to the completion of the boarding house
As I look at the photos of the interiors of the fresh boarding house, I see that this is simply a beautiful place, full of light, spacious and designed for the boys it will serve. This concern is seen all day in all action leading the centre.
However, clear spaces are not adequate if they are not filled with the essential equipment. Empty walls and corridors will not become home until they have beds where the boys can rest, survey desks and dining tables and conversations.
And although there is not much time left for this – I remind you that the planned decision is to take place during winter holidays! – I believe that thanks to your generosity this will be possible.
I believe that together we can aid the boys find a safe haven there.
