The MP of Law and Justice Kacper Płażyński requested the NIK to carry out control in the local government company InnoBaltica liable for the FALA system. The politician wants the ultimate Chamber of Control to examine the purpose, legality, economy of the full project.
The FALA strategy is simply a tool for planning travel and paying for public transport journeys in the Pomeranian Voivodeship.
During today's press conference, Kacper Płażyński assessed that the strategy "from the beginning does not work", and its costs – including planned expenditure for 2026 – would exceed PLN 300 million. He added that this amount could proceed to grow.
– It is simply a bottomless well that drains our pockets, and which makes public communication – as the transport results in Tricity show – little attractive to the inhabitants of our voivodship. That is why present we are applying to the ultimate Control Chamber to check the usefulness, economy and reliability of the actions related to the launch of the system," said the MP.
In a letter to NIK, Kacper Plażyński asks whether what the FALA offers passengers is adequate for the costs incurred by the local authorities. In the justification for the proposal, Kacper Plażyński pointed out, among others, delays in the implementation of FALI, method problems, as well as low evaluation of mobile application (1.1 out of 5 possible points).
Both representatives of InnoBaltica and the spokesperson of the Marshal's office did not want to comment on the request for control.
