The subject of the Tu-154M government disaster monument, which crashed under Smolensk in April 2010, returns. PiS supporters felt that the granite stairs, which were to be a symbol of this tragedy, were not enough, set on the plate of Piłsudski Square in Warsaw. They request a monument on Krakowskie Przedmieście erected just outside the Presidential Palace. This, in turn, is not acceptable to the current power camp, which the representatives considered the subject of the Smolensk disaster to be long closed. It is so hard to be amazed that this issue is one more time controversial.
However, with the solution comes Janusz Korwin-Mikke, who is presently moving for president of Warsaw. According to politics, the monument should be erected, but in a place not causing a dispute. And here, Korwin-Mikke claims that he found a place that, both in terms of location and naming, is just perfect. This is due to the fact that the intersection of Żwirki and Wigura Street with the Workers' Defence Committee Street, located right next to F. Chopin Airport, from which the government Tu-154M took off to Smolensk.
Janusz Korwin-Mikke proposes to turn the junction into a roundabout, in the mediate of which there will be a monument to the victims of the Smolensk catastrophe. In his opinion, not only the proximity of the "Okęcie Gate", but besides the street dedicated to 2 Polish pilots, who besides tragically died in the plane crash.
At the same time, the politician adds that after his election for the office of president of the city of Warsaw, he will give consent to the reconstruction of the junction and approval to erect the monument, but his execution and setting on the site will should be financed by the curious themselves. The city, under Korwin-Mikke's management, will not fund specified attractions.
