Polish-Italian talks on peace and economical cooperation

President Karol Nawrocki arrived in Italy after visiting the United States, where he met Donald Trump at the White home on Wednesday. The first point of the program in Rome was a visit to St Peter's Basilica – the president and his household prayed and laid flowers at the tomb of John Paul II.

After 6:00 p.m., another part of the visit began. Nawrocki went to Palazzo Chigi, where he was warmly welcomed by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. A fewer hours earlier Meloni participated remotely in the gathering of the alleged willing coalition, i.e. groups of states ready to supply Ukraine guarantees safety in the event of ceasefire in the war on Russia.

During the gathering in Palazzo Chigi, the Prime Minister congratulated Nawrock on taking office as President, and both leaders stressed the excellent state of bilateral relations. After a visit to the Vatican, Nawrocki will go to the Presidential Palace in Kwirinale to talk to the president of Italy, Sergio Mattarella. The last point of the visit to Rome will be a gathering with Polish journalists, scheduled for 14:10 p.m. at Pius XII Square.
