If we measure today's possible and capabilities of radio-technical troops (WRTs), we will surely be amazed by the improvement of the kind of troops that has occurred in the last 100 years. erstwhile the first units were called up in the late 1920s and 1930s to control airspace, their cores were reflection and reporting units, whose soldiers were equipped with busols and binoculars. The later improvement of the formation marked technological progress. The breakthrough was the introduction of the first radio-location stations to the service even before the Second planet War, from which he accepted this kind of army.

The latest edition of the Armed Forces Review, which falls into your hands, is unique for 2 reasons. The first is simply a unique package of articles prepared by soldiers and employees of radio-technical troops on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the operation of specified troops in the structures of the Polish army. On our pages there was a place for both biographical articles bringing together the profiles of people who deserve radio-technical troops, e.g. prof. Janusz Groszkowski or Gen. Div. pil. dr. Józef Ludwik Zają, as well as materials devoted to the tasks of these troops and the challenges which they will face in the future. We besides print materials on radio-location stations and associated communication and command networks.

The second reason for the uniqueness of this issue is simply a package of studies on the tasks of communication and IT troops. It was prepared by officers of the Management Board of Management and Command – P6 of the General Staff of the Polish Army. Brig. Gen. Piotr Chodowiec brought the issue of troposphere communication closer, Colonel Sławomir Pepłoński presented the specificity of cyberspace, Col. Dariusz Łuczak introduced tactical data transmission systems, Colonel Maciej Ziło introduced the digital transformation of NATO and SZRP, and Colonel Hubert Jarzabek wrote about IFF systems at tactical level. The problem of cybersecurity of military communications systems was outlined by Colonel Dariusz Wójcik, the issue of IT support of command stations was highlighted by Colonel Krzysztof Szałecki, and navigational combat – mgr inż. Paweł Dąbek.

The issue besides included 2 articles of co-authorship of Colonel Robert Matyskel and Commander Maciej Łuczkiewicz on wireless communications and satellite communications, as well as the work of Colonel Krystian Salamon on artificial intelligence. In addition to the thematic panels, I would like to urge articles from the next installment of the competition for the best work of the listeners of the Academy of War Art and an in-depth analysis of the fresh kind of MWRP ships, namely the Swordsmen, by Sławomir Julyski.

I want you a good reading!
