Since Poland's accession to the European Union in 2004, home businesses have gained access to 1 of the largest and most open markets in the world. Membership of the European Community not only increased the export possible of Polish companies, but above all allowed them to operate on an equal footing with another actors from associate States. For many businesses this has opened the door to dynamic improvement and fresh partnerships across Europe.

Today, nearly 80% of the rules that affect companies are being created at EU level. Therefore, the presence of Polish business in Brussels is so important, where law is created, which then translates into the regular functioning of companies. The Confederation of Leviathan was the first organization of employers from Poland to open its permanent representation in Brussels in 2001. Since then, he has actively represented the interests of Polish entrepreneurs in dialog with the EU institutions, ensuring that their voice is heard and taken into account in the improvement of policies and regulations.

As a typical of the Leviathan Confederation in Brussels, we are a bridge between Polish companies and EU institutions. all day we monitor the legislative process and analyse changes that affect business. We represent the interests of our entrepreneurs in contacts with representatives of EU institutions. We build dialog based on facts, data and real stories from the market. In these talks, we point out both the problems faced by companies, as well as good practices and examples of solutions that truly work," he says. The series of films that we present to you presents 3 stories of Polish entrepreneurs, which successfully operate in various industries. They talk about this with passion and attachment to the Union and European values. We want to invitation you to this engagement – this is the mission of the Confederate Leviathan for almost 25 years since our office in Brussels was established.

The mission of Leviathan is to translate concrete experiences of companies into the language of politics. We do not just want to study problems, but besides indicate solutions that work in practice. We want to show how EU membership affects the everyday life of business – not only through responsibilities, but mainly through immense opportunities.

The inspiration for this task was the talks we have in Brussels all day. We are talking to representatives of the European Commission, MEPs, social partners and manufacture organisations from all over Europe. Unfortunately, people who are behind statistic and reports are frequently not heard during these meetings. Meanwhile, they are the ones who make jobs, invest, make activities and, at the same time, benefit from the opportunities offered by Poland's EU membership," he says. Three stories of courage and consequences

Jawfish peculiar vehicles – it is simply a household company with Polish capital, founded by Anna Szczęśniak. Specializes in the production of high-tech peculiar vehicles. The offer includes rescue and firefighting vehicles, military vehicles, police vehicles as well as mobile laboratories or vehicles for transporting biological material. Thanks to the EU grant, the company has built a modern production facility, which present – supported by innovative solutions and highly qualified staff – ranks it among the most valued manufacturers in Europe. More than 1 3rd of the vehicles go to customers in 35 countries, making it a strong player in the global marketplace for specialist vehicles.

Malvina Konopacka – designer and illustrator, author of the OKO ceramic collection, which she has been developing since 2014. She studied plan at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts and illustration in Berlin. It started with the desire to decision the drawing to the planet of three-dimensional objects – present her works combine art, plan and craft, and each 1 is created manually in cooperation with experienced technologists. In 2023 the artist expanded the offer with the OKO/Design utility line. The ceramic totems and sculpture forms of Konopacka were presented at many exhibitions in Poland and abroad, including exhibitions in the buildings of the Council and the European Parliament in Brussels and Strasbourg, presenting Polish art and plan during the Polish Presidency of the EU Council. Its buildings are besides found in private collections and in collections of the National Museum in Krakow.

"Dialog" project

The films were created as part of the European task "Dialog", which focuses on exchanging cognition and experience with partners in the European Union.


Films are not only inspiration, but besides a tool of dialogue. They show what it looks like in practice to take advantage of European opportunities and how crucial it is to take account of the experience of the people who form the economy erstwhile creating law.
