The Polish on-call pair of fighters intercepted a Russian aircraft on the Baltic. The incidental occurred on Thursday evening over the global waters of the Baltic Sea.
The situation was notified by the National Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. It is possible that the flight of the Russian SU-24 was connected with the earlier suspicious operations of the Russian ship from the “shadow float” which operated in the Baltic Sea at close proximity of the cable connecting Poland with Sweden.
“These 2 events show how crucial the Baltic Sea area is, (...) how crucial it is to keep the roadways of communication, trade, transport in the Baltic Sea, to defend critical infrastructure,” the manager of the MON quoted by PAP.
The captured Russian aircraft was effectively deterred
