Sikorski accuses Iran

Radosław Sikorski, speaking to the American paper The Wall Street Journal, stated:

There is an offensive alliance between Iran and Russia. The muslim Republic is sending death and demolition in all directions, so we should face and remove the threat together.

The statements of the head of Polish diplomacy on Iran were published in the Friday article of the aforementioned journal. Sikorski explained in his interview that at the request of the U.S. NGO United Against atomic Iran (United Against atomic Iran) a Shahed-type Iranian drone was delivered to the US, which was shot down in Ukraine.

This drone was presented as an exhibit at a conference of the national-conservative CPAC environments, held on 22-23 February in Washington DC.

Visit of the jury and sanctions

"AFP News Agency" recalled that since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Tehran and Moscow have strengthened their cooperation in the economic, energy and arms sectors, despite the global sanctions imposed on both countries. Both Russia and Iran have been subject to global sanctions.

On Tuesday, Russian abroad Minister Sergei Lavrow is scheduled to arrive in Tehran.

Communication from the Iranian MFA

On Monday, the Iranian abroad Ministry published a communication in which it considered Sikorski's assessments suggesting the existence of a military alliance between Tehran and Moscow as unfounded. The AFP Agency reported that the Communication did not supply details of the allegations against the Polish side, but the call for charge d’affaires to talk was an expression of protest against Sikorski's statements.
