Polish armaments in general renovation

polska-zbrojna.pl 3 weeks ago

After 30 years of stagnation and even limiting the manufacturing potential, military equipment plants besides experience a improvement impulse. The fresh technologies that enter the arms shelter require modern production and maintenance conditions, and the strong manufacture is simply a modern military and a safe state. I so think that by 2030 we will forget about the sedition of the structures belonging to the arms companies.

Several state-owned companies Polish Armed Forces Group fresh production and service halls have already been created. The fortunate ones include: Huta Stalowa Wola (expanding the production hall by 4 fresh naves, each with 24 m wide, 144 m long and 12 m high; the fresh building area is 14,000 m2; this investment has increased the production area at the main plant by 40%); Military Aircraft Plant No. 1 SA in Łódź (new hangar with an area of over 5000 m2 capable of handling up to 12 helicopters); Military Electronic Works in Zielonka (a laboratory for the examination of rockets without shooting them – HWIL and NSM rocket service centre); Capital Industrial Optics Centre (new production and office building) and PGZ War Shipyard in Gdynia (new, the highest in the Polish shipbuilding manufacture hull hall with modernized waterfront, roads and warehouse squares).

The radiolocation mogul, PIT-Radwar, invests heavy in Kobyłka. It was commissioned to make a production and assembly building with an office-social part, method facilities and infrastructure, with an area of more than 1 ha, providing the company with multiple capacity to produce large-scale products, their integration, investigating and servicing. Ultimately, in Kobyłka a modern plant with full laboratory and investigation and improvement facilities will be established, to which the full business of the company will be transferred from its existing location in the crowded capital. A fewer weeks ago. Mesko enriched in Skarżysko-Kamienna with a tiny caliber ammunition production hall, expanding the company's production capacity 5 times – up to 250 million rounds a year.

In the private WB Group, many things besides happened: fresh buildings and halls were created in WB Electronics, Radmorze, Radmorze Mechanice and Areksa, and in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, the group, noticing the increasing request for its drones, built a fresh Skarżysko Production Centre, where respective 100 workers produce thousands of unmanned workers annually.

RECLAMA

It is fascinating that the largest infrastructure investments are inactive waiting for both groups – state and private. In addition, fresh players will emerge, besides investing in production infrastructure. In the next 5 years, the national armory will completely change its appearance and increase its property resources.

Soon, this year

This year, the workers of the weapon mill “The Hunter” and Maskpolu SA They will decision to modern production buildings. In Radom, the hall, equipped with advanced machines, will let to efficiently increase the production capacity. In turn, the three-storey facility in Koniecki close Częstochowa, with an area of over 4100 m2, will accommodate 400 employees, who will produce specialist clothing, bulletproof vests, CBRN clothing and individual equipment elements for the military and another uniformed formations. The building will besides have construction offices and social facilities.

Capital PCO SA received PLN 261 million from the Capital Investment Fund to grow production possible through technological and organisational transformation. And a fewer weeks ago, the president of the company signed a contract with representatives of Mirbud (sold to PLN 131 million) for the demolition of the existing building and the construction of a fresh production, 4 storey with installations and infrastructure. This investment is planned to be completed at the end of 2026.

The HSW has completed the construction of a geared track for traction investigating of combat vehicles to measure the durability of the structure exposed to cyclic variable loads, and tests for the co-incidence of the aiming axis with the barrel axis and to verify the correctness of the stabilisation of optical instruments, the operation of the hydro-pneumatic suspension strategy or traction and braking system. During implementation is the construction of the shooting test track as part of the 30 mm cannon service center. The construction works and access roads are presently being completed.

Stalowowolska company in 2023 redeemed resources located in the neighbourhood of LiuGong. The assets obtained (production, storage, office facilities, machinery and equipment, tools and equipment) and the acquired production and method personnel, experienced in the manufacture of dense equipment, will let further expansion and improvement of production potential. As I have learned, HSW is working intensively to modernise recently purchased infrastructure – construction facilities and machinery park. In June 2023 HSW received the first tranche of co-financing – PLN 600 million from the Capital Investment Fund. For this money, Huta besides modernizes the real property and technological resources of the branches: Autosanu in Sanok, branch I in Stalowa Wola and branch in Dęblin.

July representatives of the PGZ-et announced the establishment of 3 fresh ammunition manufacturing plants 155 mm (by expanding existing factories as well as building fresh ones). The basis of the activities is the State Treasury (FIC) backing of PLN 2.4 billion. PGZ besides plans to implement further projects related to the production of multi-base drugs and advanced energy products. I will remind you briefly: The Desamet metallic Plants of Nowa Dęba received a giant grant (PLN 1,358 billion) for the expansion of infrastructure for 155 mm ammunition production. The company intends to build a production and retention facility by September 2028, buy a fresh automated machinery park and modernize the sewage treatment plant. In the same period, Mesko is to prepare a branch in Kraśnik, designed for increased production of 155 mm shells (a grant of PLN 887 million) – this is where the acquisition and modernisation of buildings is expected to accommodate fresh machines. In Pionki, due to the expected and delayed launch of the drug production line, warehouses with increased requirements for the retention of explosives will be created, along with storms protecting the surrounding buildings from the effects of the explosion.

March 2028 is simply a deadline for investment in Chemical plants ‘Nitro-Chem’. In Bydgoszcz there are to be fresh lines for firing 155 mm ammunition. The company received PLN 113 million for this intent from FIK, which intends to spend on demolishing old buildings and preparing the site for 4 fresh facilities with method infrastructure and machines filling shells with high-energy materials. In the same ammunition package ZPS Gamrat from Jasła is expected to invest in the construction of a gas generator plant. PLN 66 million will be spent on adapting and expanding the existing production line. This is already happening – on August 5, Gamratu's president concluded an agreement with Casp strategy to implement the digital radiography strategy for the investigation of X-ray explosives, combined with building adaptation – the facility is to be ready in mid-2026, the investment value is almost 11 million net, and the money comes from the company's own resources.

The ammunition increase was summed up by Arkadiusz Bąk, the first vice president of the PGZ board: “Building 3 ammunition factories is besides fresh jobs. We increase production possible and invest in human resources training, which will strengthen the national defence sector." I'm just amazed it's only happening now. These factories should be standing long ago, giving jobs and earning money and further investments, besides exporting. Better late than never.

In 2 to 3 years

The State Treasury's money drives the modernisation of PGZ-etu companies in connection with the implementation of air defence programs “Narew” and “Wisła”. This package includes the “Big Kobyłka” task for PIT-Radwarubut besides investments in another establishments. Military Armed Forces in Grudziądz are presently selecting the contractor of the fresh production and service hall and the contractor of the renovation of the existing hall. The WZE, which followed the blow, received backing from FIK – PLN 67.5 million – for the construction of a light hall for mechanical production and the modernisation of another building for the production of electronics for the “Narew” and “Wisła” programmes. The completion of construction and installation works in Zielonka is planned for autumn 2026. The WZE besides ordered 2 buildings for the production of sections of the gas-dynamic scope of PAC3-MSE missiles (under the offset agreement for the first phase of the Vistula programme). Here the date of the investment is not known to me.

Also active in anti-aircraft projects Military Communications Plant No. 1 with Zegrz plan to build 2 production halls, modernization of galvanizers, welding rooms and warehouses, acquisition of machinery and equipment and another equipment, investments in IT infrastructure. The full value of investments will be PLN 155 million, including 152 million from FIK and PLN 2 million from the company's own resources. Providing vehicles for all key modernization programs of the Polish Army Jelcz must besides increase the production rate. This is done by commissioning the assembly work to the Sanoka branch's brother and Wielton. But until recently, she planned to invest in fresh halls and production lines. For now, the modernisation of the buildings is being saved, the management is already reasoning about building a painting-painting plant, and the ambition may be to set up a completely fresh military chassis factory.

Smaller, refurbishment investments take place in Tarnów S.A. metallic Plant, in Rosomak SA, Gliwice Bumar-Łabada (under armored production) and Zabrzan Bumar-Mikulczyce, and even in ZURAD in Ostrów Mazowiecki. The boards of these companies effort to maximise the usage and renewal of their facilities, which seems understandable – they do not gotta acquisition plots for the construction of fresh halls, warehouses and buildings, so it is cheaper and faster.

Private initiative

In the WB Group, I heard that investments are being implemented continuously. The plans of the private holding company from Ożarów Mazowiecki are wider, have already included acquisition of fresh entities (including high-energy materials, ammunition and warheads), as well as the creation of fresh companies, including peculiar intent companies with Polish investigation institutions and abroad partners. This year the WB Group will further grow and increase its possible in the area of construction and production of unmanned air, land and sea systems, but besides dual-use solutions specified as military and civilian energy retention systems. We besides know that in cooperation with South Korean Hanwha Aerospace Polish company in the joint venture model intends to build in the western part of the country a CGR-080 rocket production plant for K239 launchers. Work on choosing the location and designer of the first fresh weapon mill in 35 years seems very advanced.

Following the heels of a bilateral initiative, the trampling initiative was established in 2024 by the consortium of AMC Global Group, a group of respective companies connected in capital and individual terms, with the dominant Polish capital. Its strategical nonsubjective is "to respond effectively to existing shortages in the supply of specialised products and to a limited number of their producers". It intends to specialize in the production and supply of large caliber ammunition, unguided rockets and high-energy materials. The co-founding company Armaments Munition Company sp. z o.o. has its own technology of producing (assembly) large caliber projectiles and elaborating TNT; while the sister company General Explosives sp. z o.o. has its own technology of assembling modular propellants and producing detonators. The assembly of ammunition (its elaboration) is to be established in the Konecka Słupi (a 3200 m2 building on a game of 12.4 ha due to the extended safety zone), and the complex for the production of propelling loads will be located further to the west (a pitch of 15.7 ha, a building of about 3,500 m2). The construction of halls and warehouses is expected to start soon, at respective months intervals, as they are to complement themselves business and technically, allowing them to anticipate to supply customers in 3 years. They are expected to have respective automated production lines, operating socket-poke, and usage a strong AI component to minimize downtime and reduce the impact of human errors. In general, it is hard to reduce the number of workers employed in this dangerous work by highly skilled workers, of whom it is hard in localities distant from large industrial centres. The projected full expenditure on both ammunition production complexes totals about $48 million. The president of Przemysław Kowalczuk, with whom I talked about the plans of AMC Global Group, does not exclude further investments in Poland.

Whether it's an initiative of a state corp or a business run by private entities, all construction, and even the demolition of an old, threatening building that has long since been amortised, enjoys it. fresh technologies, requiring modern production and maintenance conditions, open up industries for global and intra-national cooperation, creating jobs that drive these investments by plan and construction companies, in the long word facilitating investigation and development. I have no doubt: the face of defence companies in the next 5 years will radically change. Let us all hold our fingers to this process: strong manufacture is simply a modern military and a safe country. I support all those active in the general renovation of the Polish armory.
