The global situation, especially the Russian war against Ukraine, confirms the function of this sector for defence," said Italian Ambassador Luca Franchetti Pardo. He pointed out that the border between civilian and military is blurring, especially in areas specified as border monitoring, territory and critical infrastructure. "We are increasingly dealing with dual-use technologies. The cost of developing them requires a holistic approach; investigation institutions and companies must cooperate to deliver products that guarantee the safety of our citizens," said the ambassador. This, he added, requires bilateral and European cooperation in which Italian companies have experience, ranging from design, production, service and operation support. He assured that Italy "supported Europe's strategical autonomy, complementary to NATO and open to cooperation with another countries on safety issues".
