Ladies and gentlemen,
I am writing to you, inactive in emotion after what happened at the Wednesday gathering of the Joint Digital Committees and the Committee on Children and Youth, during which a discussion was to take place on the task "Stop Pornography Drug".
And unfortunately, these are not affirmative emotions.
Because what happened was far from a discussion.
It was alternatively a scandalous shoe show from the rulers.
The opinion of the social side – or 212,000 Poles who signed the bill – was completely ignored.
In a moment, I will describe these events in more detail, but I would like to assure you that we are not laying down weapons.
On the contrary!
We have a crucial minute ahead of us, because, to the general surprise, On Friday, the Sejm did not vote against this project!
We have time and chance to make the Members aware of the importance of our voice. We must request that he be heard: We must not let the rulers in the name of their own organization interests to put the safety of the youngest at stake!
That is why I would like to ask you for exceptional mobilisation and assistance in reaching your Members. The task “Stop Drug Pornography” is simply a breakthrough in protecting Polish children and young people from access to pornographic content on the Internet.
The Wednesday gathering of the Committee on Digitisation, Innovation and Modern Technologies and the Committee on Children and Youth did not have much to do with the substantive discussion that we could anticipate in a subject as crucial as protecting children and young people from access to pornographic content on the Internet.
It would seem that specified an crucial issue should be removed from the current political wars.
However, I have an overwhelming impression that for politicians it was more crucial than protecting the youngest... political PR!
What happened was 1 large porn act whose goal was known from the beginning: The “Stop Drug Pornography” project, supported by more than 200,000 citizens, was to go to the basket and give way to a government project.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr Rafał Dorosinski presented the assumptions of the social project. After his speech, there was a time for discussion, but this was limited to a brief exchange with Deputy Minister of Digitization Michał Gramatica, who is liable for preparing the government project, and the voice of Mr Lukas Osmalak from Poland 2050, who, presenting alleged errors of the social project, gave false information about it!
However, we could no longer correct this, due to the fact that a left-wing MP, Grzegorz Napieralski, entered the stage, who motioned unceremoniously to reject the task "Stop drug pornography", thus paralysing further exchange of arguments.
Ladies and gentlemen, I want this to be clear:
In this way, not us, but 212,000 Poles, who showed last year that they truly care about the welfare of the youngest generation, signing the bill prepared by us.
Watching the events in the committee, I made certain that the government's sides were not interested! In all of this embarrassing political spectacle, there was only 1 thing: to reject the civilian task as shortly as possible and to push the government project.
So it is not truly crucial to defend children and young people from the harmful effects of contact with pornography – political PR matters!
It doesn't substance that by their actions, the minute erstwhile the youngest gets protection, it shifts distant in time.
So we have a situation in which the government can work on a ready-made social project, which has already gone through the first reading in the Sejm and went into committee work or focus on a government project, which supposedly contains akin solutions and – as the Minister of Grammar boasts – should to enter the government's agenda.
Meanwhile, in social media, Minister Grammar is pleased to “protect children from porn getting closer”. And he accuses the rejected task that it contains "such flowers" as... a precise definition of pornography.
This definition is modelled on the 2001 Council of Europe Convention, which is clearly described in the explanatory memorandum of the civilian project. "Flower" of Minister of Grammar was besides approved by the Sejm Bureau of Experts.
So it seems that the main flaw of the task "Stop Drug Pornography" is the fact that he prepared it hated by the ruling Ordo Iuris Institute.
Politicians are ready to reject the task as good as possible and supported by more than 200,000 Poles to “kick” an unpopular organization. What about the fact that they're going to get hurt while they're inactive unprotected? It seems to be a sacrifice for which the rulers are ready!
Let me remind you of what I have described to you many times.
Contact with pornography involves a serious hazard of addictionwhich works the same as alcohol or hard drugs. This kind of addiction causes functional and morphological changes in the brain. Pornography so impairs the psychophysical improvement of young people. It distorts the perception of reality, especially male-female relationships.
According to the study on the net of Children 2025/2 every another underage net user in Poland has contact with erotic content, with an average of 10 to 14 minutes a day.
Moreover, according to the investigation mentioned in the publication (on the consumption of content on the Internet) the 3rd most popular thematic group among Polish children aged 7-14 is... erotica. And more frequently than Wikipedia, they visit 1 of the most popular pornographic sites!
Experts are alerting that in Poland we may have an epidemic of kid addiction to pornography. This problem is widespread adequate to destruct not the individual, but the full generation.
That is why we request real action, not a political spectacle!
Blocking work on the "Stop Drug Pornography" task does not mean the end of our activities.
On the contrary, this could be a decisive minute for us, because, as I mentioned, However, the vote on the project, which was to take place on Friday in the Sejm, did not supply for the.
So we inactive have a chance. to persuade the Members of the Coalition not to follow what happened at the gathering of the Joint Committees and to vote in favour of sending a social task for further amendments.
We must make them aware that if they vote against it, then they will stand side by side with porn lobby, which has been blocking the introduction of effective protection of young people from this virtual threat in Poland for years.
Finally, we want to inform them that their voters will surely learn about the deep respect that over 200,000 Poles have for the vote!
We must besides delude any manipulations that the opposing committee members are spreading.
During the combined committee meeting, we proposed a combination of work on both projects, a joint action of both the rulers and the social side, but we bounced back from the scandalous demonstration of political cynicism.
The worst possible step was to throw the finished task into the basket in the name of pushing another bill only so that all the credit could be attributed to the rulers.
Therefore, while we have time for this – before there is simply a parliamentary vote – we inactive want to persuade Members not to reject the task "Stop Drugs Pornography" and direct it to further work.
However, we have very small time for all of this, most likely until the next session of the Sejm. If we want him not to be rejected, we must begin an intense run to defend him immediately!
We will prepare a petition for parliamentary clubs, presenting real information about the project. We will exert force on local parliamentary offices through our network of field contacts. Of course, the scale of these activities is heavy dependent on financial support related mainly to the preparation of leaflets and the payment of their printing.

Providing children with real protection against pornography on the net is present 1 of the key challenges facing us – adults.
This drug kills a full generation: it kills their psyche, their innocence, their ability to make satisfying and healthy relationships. It destroys their future.
Of course – pornography, unlike another drugs, does not straight exposure them to the fatal consequences of overdose or prolonged use.
It destroys much more insidiously: rapidly and profoundly addictive. Even as a child, it can affect the full future, prevent a happy and lasting matrimony from being built, destroying the psyche, deforming the perception of another man, anesthetizing violence, entrapping sexual dysfunction.
This destructive action, due to the easier access to pornography than always today, will not be limited to individuals who “will become active in bad associations”. He'll contact a full generation.
It is our work to defend children from him, as we defend their wellness and life from nicotine, alcohol or drugs.
Today their welfare is in the hands of politicians.
They have the power to introduce real and effective solutions to defend them from destructive content. Unfortunately, they can do differently by putting their own political interests above the good and safety of children.
Again, ladies and gentlemen: Let's not let that happen!
We have weeks, possibly just days, to take effective action. Encourage politicians to have a truly liable attitude alternatively of playing a political game.
I believe that with your aid we can defend the youngest.
