The political crisis in Germany. The president dissolved the Bundestag

German president Frank-Walter Steinmeier dissolved the Bundestag and set out an early parliamentary election. They will take place on 23 February 2025. This is the consequence of Chancellor Olaf Scholz's proposal, whose number government did not receive a vote of assurance on 16 December.
