Polish-Ukrainian relations in a miserable state? Over 2 thirds of Poles with 1 vote

According to a fresh survey by United Surveys by IBRiS for Virtual Poland, most Poles believe that Polish-Ukrainian relations deteriorated in 2025 – this opinion is shared by over 65% of respondents. On the another hand, attendance is much weaker – only 8 percent of respondents observed improved relations between our countries.

Since Russia's invasion of Ukraine in March 2022, Polish-Ukrainian relations have appeared to be systematically deteriorating. This is due, among another things, to the abrupt influx of millions of Ukrainian refugees and the resulting cultural shock, but besides to political issues – including the exhumation of victims of the Volyn massacre and the inactive present cult of Stepen Bandery in Ukraine, the architect of genocide in Poles.

In spite of many common interests, relations are cooling down. In the fresh United Surveys by IBRiS survey for „WP”, only 8.6 percent of respondents noticed improvements in Polish-Ukrainian relations. The other opinion – that they have deteriorated – is 65.5% of respondents.

According to 21.4% of respondents, Polish-Ukrainian relations have not changed, and 4.5% of respondents have no task on this subject.

In a akin survey of 2024, the percent of people who observed a deterioration in their relation was 61.3%, which means an increase of more than 4 percent points. The number of people who see improvements besides somewhat increased from 7.9 percent to 8.6 percent.

The survey was conducted utilizing CATI and CAWI methods on a typical group of 1,000 adult Poles.
