The WB Group and South Korean Hanwha Aerospace Group signed an agreement defining the conditions of operation of the company, which will produce missiles to Chunmoo launchers in Poland. “Thanks to technology transfer [...] fresh missiles will besides be utilized by another rocket systems, which are equipped with the Polish Army”, announced Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.
The paper signed by representatives of the WB Group and Hanwha Aerospace contains key conditions concerning the operation of the company which will produce in Poland missiles CGR-080 80 km range. It is ammunition for the K239 Chunmoo rocket artillery launcher, which form the basis of the Polish lobster-K system.
For now, negotiations are underway on the location of the factory. However, it is known that the first projectiles are to exit the production line in 3 years.

He announced that thanks to the technology transfer to our manufacture fresh missiles would besides be utilized by another rocket systems that are equipped with military equipment. Paweł Bejda, Deputy Minister of Defence, who was present at the time of signing the document, recalled that last April was concluded executive contract for transportation of 72 Chunmoo launchers. Of this number 12 will be produced in Korea, but 60 already in Poland. In total, Poland bought 290 South Korean launchers. “We have led to the fact that the production of ammunition, missiles, in Poland will become a fact,” said Bejda. At the same time, he judged that this was of large importance in terms of planet security. In case of conflict, we have production in place. Furthermore, it is besides a deterrent component – the Deputy Minister indicated. Paweł Bejda stressed that South Korea is simply a proven partner and wants to share technologies. The deputy chief of the MON besides hopes that in the future Korean missiles with a scope of 290 km will be produced in Polish armament plants.
Piotr Wojciechowski, president of the WB Group, pointed out that today's celebration is the expression of "the visionary thought of the MON". “We make the first joint venture in the Polish arms industry,” he added. He announced that cooperation with Hanwha Aerospace with full support from the MON, it offers an chance to produce, make and export products. “We are building a plant with a future and we do not want to focus on just this 1 area. And this is the first step," he added.
Piotr Wojciechowski explained that negotiations are underway with representatives of respective districts on the location of the fresh factory. 5 towns are involved. He besides stressed that the aim is to Polishize the projectile, i.e. its production in the country by Polish partners.
Multi-guided K239 Chunmoo launchers in the Polish army have the designation lobster-K. The weapon is adapted to various types of rockets. CGR-080 239 mm missiles, which will be produced in Poland under the signed agreement, have a scope of 80 km.
