Polish Armed Forces Group helps floods

In the face of the flood that affected the areas of south-western Poland, the Polish Armed Forces Group took a number of actions to support the victims. These activities are carried out by individual companies, the Foundation of the Polish Armed Group and the group as a whole.

As part of its initiatives, the Polish Armoured Group S.A. organised a collection of gifts in kind and resources for the acquisition of the most needed products, specified as food and cleaning products, among employees in Warsaw, Radom and Gdynia. The first batch of aid went to the collection point in Stroni Śląski on 19 September. The choice was not accidental due to the fact that it was 1 of the most experienced floods. Another transport of gifts from PGZ S.A. arrived on September 26. For the remainder of the collected funds, heating units and cleaning items and accessories were purchased.

The Polish Armed Group Foundation was besides active in helping to remove the effects of floods. Acting with the support of not only its founder – PGZ S.A., but besides companies of Mechanical Plants „Bumar-Łabada” S.A. and Mesko S.A., the PGZ Foundation finalizes, among others, donations for 3 schools from the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, which actively support youth pro-defense education, and during the floods suffered. Thanks to the backing of the PGZ Foundation, renovations will be carried out in the Association of Vocational and General Education Schools of the 29th Infantry Regiment of the 2nd Army of the Polish Army in Kamienna Góra, the Complex of Artistic Crafts Schools of Stanisław Wyspiański in Jelenia Góra and the Major H. Sucharski in Bolesławec. In addition, the PZZ Foundation, in cooperation with Maskpol, donated warm sweatshirts to students of the Local Government School squad in the Śląski Party, as well as insulation suits for repair and order work performed by residents of the Śląski Party. The PGZ Foundation besides provides support to employees of GK PGZ companies who have suffered from flooding.

- The PZZ Foundation, as a corporate foundation established by the Polish Armed Forces Group S.A., pursues the mission of corporate social responsibility, without remaining indifferent to emergency situations specified as flooding, which ravaged the areas of south-western Poland in September. Taking into account the statutory objectives of the PGZ Foundation, which include, inter alia, charitable aid, assistance to victims of natural disasters or promotion of civic and pro-defensive attitudes, The PGZ Foundation, together with its partners from the PGZ Group, takes measures to support the removal of the effects of the component and reconstruction of the infrastructure destroyed by it, with peculiar emphasis on educational institutions preparing young people to service in the field of defence of the country, or supporting the improvement of shooting in Poland. Since the first days of the flood, the PGZ Foundation has besides provided support to employees of GK PGZ companies who have suffered as a consequence of the flood," emphasized PGZ Foundation president Mateusz Roszkiewicz.

The aid to the floods from the first moments besides included the companies that were part of the PGZ Capital Group. Their engagement takes various forms and depends on the needs of the affected areas.

On 20-22 September, employees of Military Communications Plant No. 1 S.A. stayed in the Kłodzka Basin in the town of Lądek Zdrój, providing assistance to victims of flooding. Gifts collected at the company were transported to the site and equipment essential for repair work after the flood, including: shovels, headlights, boots, gloves, gas cookers, individual lighting, spare batteries, etc. In addition, employees of WZŁ No. 1 S.A. participated in physical works consisting of removing the effects of floods, demolition of pavements in order to recover the ankle, works utilizing dense equipment or supplying food to hard accessible flood sites.

Gun mill “Łucznik” - Radom sp. z o.o. donated in the form of aggregates, dryers, force washes, combustion saws and flashlights. In addition, a collection took place at the employee's initiative. individual hygiene, chemicals, boots, rubber and working gloves, batteries, powerbanks, drinking water and food products with prolonged shelf life were collected. Collected gifts were transported to the post organized by the Radom municipal authorities at the office of the Centre for NGOs.

The activities of the PGZ Capital Group are examples of solidarity and social responsibility. With the support shown, many families affected by the flood received the essential help, allowing them to return to average more quickly. These initiatives show the importance of cooperation and engagement of the various sectors in crisis relief. Further relief actions are being organised, due to the fact that although a period has passed since the flood, the number of people to be helped is inactive large.
