The Israeli Navy intercepted all ships with Polish participants of the global Sumud fleet, coming with humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip – the organizers informed.
The takeover action began on Wednesday, erstwhile the fleet surrounded more than 20 Israeli units – activists informed. On platform X there were recordings posted by the organizers of the expedition showing the actions of Israeli soldiers.
Israel's MFA confirmed that detainees, including Poles, are being transported to Israel from where they are to be deported to Europe. Members of Franciszek Sterczewski, Omar Faris, Nina Bird and Ewa Jasiewicz were detained. Israel stresses that activists are safe. After the acquisition of the All in ship, on which was the last individual from the Polish delegation, 29 units of flotilla are headed to Gaza.
Israel had previously announced that it would not let ships to enter Gaza. Flotilla Sumud is an initiative involving representatives of more than 40 countries.
