On 8-10 October 2024 a series of copyright meetings were held with prof. Helena Krasowska, in which the latest book entitled "Poles in Transnistria. Certificate of the fading heritage.’
On 8 October, a delegation composed of: manager of east European Studies Jan Malicki, prof. Helena Krasowska, and 2 PhD students Kamelia Penkowska and Krzysztof Zarecki took part in the Holy Mass in the Catholic parish of St. Joseph in Rybnica. After the service, thanks to the parish priest Tadeusz Magierowski, the first gathering was held at the parish house. many guests showed keen interest in the book by sharing their individual experiences with Polishness by thanking them with emotion for telling their stories. The investigation results were discussed by Kamelia Penkowska and Krzysztof Zarecki, manager Jan Malicki, who talked about a five-year project, and the author thanked those gathered for the chance to collect materials.
The following day, on 9 October, the delegation went to Rashkov to lay a wreath on the graves of Poles murdered by the Stalinist government from 1937 to 1938. On the hands of Raszkowski priest Ruslan Pogrebny, the Polish community in Raszkow was handed over the book by Prof. Krasowska. Another halt on the way was the Polish village Słoboda-Raszków, whose local library besides enriched with respective copies. In the evening in the town of Tyraspol a solemn gathering was held by the Society of Polish Culture “Jasna Góra” and its president Natalia Siniawska. The audience was accompanied by the band “Astoria” who performed classical music concert. The gathering was attended by local heart priests, Father Piotr Kuszman and Father Zdzisław Szmartka and prof. Andrzej Kriwienko, who gave a lecture entitled “Poles in the Mosaics of multiculturalism”. The gathering with Prof. Krasowska was a large turnout success, not all of them fit in the room. The present guests asked many questions and expressed excitement with the event. Traditionally, it was possible to share your thoughts and get a desired autograph with a dedication.
On October 10, the band left Tyraspol and went to Chisinau. At the Polish Library “Adam Mickiewicz” there was a 3rd gathering organized by the manager of the library Sveta Gumeni. Among those present were prof. Lilia Zabolostaja, and Consul Magda Arsenich. Prof. Krasowska emphasized that the book is the voice of people and without Poles and their stories could not arise. manager Jan Malicki pointed out that the book is besides unique in the context of the applied investigation methodology. PhD Kamelia Penkowska spoke about the results of investigation on Polish citizenship in Transnistria, and Krzysztof Zarecki presented and commented on the results of investigation on the Polish Charter. The gathering was besides attended by the leaders of Polish organizations in Chisinau – among others, library directors, editor-in-chief of “Jutrzynki” Helena Usow and representatives of Polonia.
