Since the beginning of the year, the US services have expelled 8 Poles and six more are in the deportation process – according to the data provided by the Polish Ministry of abroad Affairs. The Ministry besides gives reasons for deportation. Why did Poles gotta leave the United States?
Thursday's "GW" recalls that since U.S. president Donald Trump just after his swearing in (20 January) began the long-pronounced "largest deportation operation in the past of the country", part of Polonia got scared.
However, after more than 100 days of Trump's rule, we can see that despite the spectacular, pointy actions of the deportation services there is no - the paper notes. Since the inauguration, about 152,000 people have been expelled from the US. Meanwhile, 195 1000 were deported for Joe Biden from February to April last year - he states.
According to the data provided by Polish diplomatic and constitutional institutions to the Consular Department of the Ministry of abroad Affairs, 8 Polish citizens were deported from the US from 1 January to 5 May, and six were in the deportation process, informs the Ministry of abroad Affairs in consequence to the election request.
In March, the ministry quoted the paper that among the 14 people to be deported at the time, “three have committed a violation of American migration laws, the others have committed crimes or offences”.
In 2024, during Biden's rule, the Immigration and Customs Office (ICE) reported 67 deportations of Polish citizens. (PAP)
