"The Polar Dagger" at the border with Russia. American commandos practice defending islands

In the western part of Alaska, American peculiar forces began the Polar Dagger exercise ("The Polar Dagger"). They check how rapidly they can deploy forces on islands in the Bering Strait between Alaska and Russia. Exercises besides include small Diomeda, which lies little than 4 km from the Russian Ratmanov Island.
