"Poland will no longer be a passive player". Tusk announced major changes

In Warsaw there is simply a European Forum of fresh Ideas. Donald Tusk took a strong stand on the Polish economy. The Prime Minister announced the end of "a naive globalisation" and reported that circumstantial decisions had been made on the supervision of key investments.


The Prime Minister argued that at present Poland must defend its economical interests. In his opinion, the country cannot proceed to be a naive partner towards planet giants. – Poland will no longer be a passive player in the global business race. We gotta start playing hard, like others," Donald Tusk said during his speech in Warsaw.

The head of government besides announced the end of "the naive era of globalisation" and the beginning of the repolonization of the economy, the marketplace and capital. In his opinion, it is essential to strengthen the state and to defend it from external threats.

"Call it an economical dictatorship. I don't have a problem with that"


Tusk besides referred to criticism of the fresh approach, suggesting that it resembled excessive state control. - Anyone call that economical nationalism? I don't have a problem with that. I heard late that this seems like any kind of economical dictatorship. This word does not bother me either," said the Prime Minister.

He explained that the State must have a greater impact on strategical investments and listed circumstantial government decisions that have taken place on this issue recently:

The railway transshipment terminal in Sławków in Silesia is to be 100 percent under Polish supervision.

With the investment in the first Polish atomic power plant, as many as 53 billion zlotys are to go to national companies.

The Prime Minister will receive regular reports on the investment of the Treasury companies, concerning the accomplishment of the objectives of supporting Polish capital and entrepreneurs.


Tusk besides pointed out that on Thursday, April 17, the government will present the first deregulation package to simplify the rules and improve the conditions for operating in Poland.

European Forum of fresh Ideas in Warsaw – what is the event?


The European Forum for fresh Ideas is simply a cyclical event organised since 2011 by the Confederation of Leviathan, in cooperation with BusinessEurope and the city of Sopot. It is 1 of the largest conferences in Central Europe devoted to the future of the continent, global trends and the economy.

This year's edition is attended by over a 1000 people – representatives of business, administration, discipline and culture.
