The full educational cycle in Poland (12 years of study)
In the Polish strategy (8 years of primary school + 4 years of advanced school), the full number of lessons of discipline subjects depends mainly on the profile chosen in advanced school.
- Basic option (high school student choosing a humanistic or linguistic profile):
- Primary school (classes 1–8): approx. 1,850 lessons
- High school (primary level): approx. 1 150 lessons
- TOTAL: Okay. 3,000 Lessons in Science throughout the cycle.
- Extended option (high school student choosing a mat-fis, biol-chem or mathematical-informatic profile):
- Primary school (classes 1–8): approx. 1,850 lessons
- High school (extended level): approx. 1,800 lessons
- TOTAL: Okay. 3 650 lessons in science throughout the cycle.
2. The full educational cycle in China (12 years of study)
In the Chinese strategy (6 years of primary school + 3 years of Junior advanced + 3 years of elder High), the emphasis on discipline is tremendous at all phase and the school year lasts longer.
- Standard/Basic variant (profile without advanced engineering extension):
- Primary school (classes 1–6): approx. 1 890 lessons
- Junior advanced School (class 7–9): approx. 1 575 lessons
- Senior advanced School (base level): approx. 1 050 lessons
- TOTAL: Okay. 4 500 lessons in science throughout the cycle.
- Intensive variant (STEM / GaoKao strict) (equivalent to the Polish mat-physic profile, preparing for the engineering career):
- Primary school and Junior High: approx. 3 465 lessons
- Senior advanced School: approx. 2 100 lessons
- TOTAL: Okay. 5 550 lessons in science throughout the cycle.
Main conclusions of the summary:
- Baseline gap: Chinese student who is not curious in science and chooses the general profile, postgraduate with the number of about 4,500 STEM lessons. That's close. 1,000 lessons more than a Polish student who deliberately went on a mathematical-physical profile.
- Maximum extension: Comparing students with highly strict profiles, a young man in China undergoes his education about 1 900 lessons of discipline more than his peer in Poland.
- Additional working time: These calculations do not take into account Chinese compulsory evening self-education sessions in schools (Zixiu), during which students under the supervision of teachers solve tasks. The real number of hours spent on discipline objects in China is so even higher.
