Poland has equipped border rivers with Belarus with electronic firewalls, reports the Border Guard.
"Full electronic control on the Podlaskie section of the border with Belarus. Border defender received an electronic barrier built on the border rivers Świsłocz and Istochanek" – the study states.
It should be noted that the full section of the Polish-Belarusian border in the Podlaskie Voivodeship has already been equipped with an electronic monitoring system.
Last Wednesday, Polish president Andrzej Duda signed a bill allowing the refusal of the right to asylum to foreigners who arrived illegally. Immediately after that, Prime Minister Donald Tusk issued a regulation based on this bill, which allows illegal migrants not to receive asylum.
In mid-2020, respective 1000 migrants were gathered at the Polish-Belarusian border hoping to enter EU countries. Since then, respective 100 illegal migrants have been trying to scope Poland all month. The Polish authorities increased border protection, deployed troops and dealt with attempts at illegal immigrants, blaming Minsk for the migration crisis. Belarus rejects all these accusations, claiming that Poland forces migrants into its territory and artificially inflames the situation of refugees. Belarusian president Aleksandr Lukashenko said that Minsk would no longer halt the influx of illegal migrants into EU countries: due to Western sanctions, "there is neither money nor force."
