Poles abroad. How can they vote?

Any citizen, regardless of where he is staying, may take part in the elections provided that he or she has Polish citizenship. However, citizens abroad must take steps to vote. Unlike citizens residing in Poland on the day of the vote who are automatically included in the list of voters, citizens residing abroad must registry beforehand.

They can do it in 2 ways. The first is to sign up for the list of voters abroad. To do so, you request to apply to the Consul by 10 October. This can be done personally, send a scan of the application to the consul's email address or usage the “electoral” service on the abroad Minister's website.

The second way is to get a certificate of voting rights. The application for specified a certificate may be lodged by 12 October in a selected municipality in Poland or at a consul abroad. The application must be submitted in paper form and shall be deleted from the list of voters after its submission. The certificate shall be the only paper authorising the vote and shall be observed.

Both methods are free both at home and abroad.
