The Veterans Centre for Activities outside the State Borders summarized the task "Veterinary Diary". This is simply a series of 17 talks with veterans, in which they gave their individual reflection on the service under the white-red flag, performed far from home. Recordings of interviews with soldiers are available on the Centre website.
– ‘Veterinary Diary’ It's a peculiar project. This is not a formal report, due to the fact that the study talks about the start of actions, their completion, is filled with statistics, but there are no crucial issues there: the emotion and past of human fate," said Stanisław Wzątek, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Defence, at a conference summarizing the implementation of the task of the Veteran Centre of Actions outside the State Borders. This year's edition took place. International Defence manufacture Salon.
The veteran memoir is simply a series of podcasts with Polish Army soldiers who served on abroad missions. It was attended by, among others, Gen. Rajmund Andrzejczak, Łukasz Jużwiak, Colonel Justyna Kuśiak or plut. by Stanisław Chmielewski. The conversation was led by Agnieszka Drążkiewicz, writer of Polish Radio. The full cycle is available on the Veteran Centre website, whose partner in the implementation of the task was the PGZ Foundation.
Stanisław Wąątek, thanking the originators, expressed hope that the attitudes presented by veterans of the mission outside the country could be an example for all soldiers of the Polish Army. You could show yourselves through your own emotions. You have shown that you never halt being a real soldier," he said. But this impact can be broader, going far beyond the military environment. – Your experiences can be part of building the doctrine of a state based on respect and gratitude – added the deputy chief of the MON.
– In addition to the aid activity, commemorating the actions of Polish soldiers on missions is the statutory task of the Veteran Centre – said Colonel Mariusz Pogonowski, the manager of this institution. – Dry relationships frequently deficiency emotion. At the Centre we managed to make a friendly atmosphere, where veterans in conversation with the editor opened up – he added.
Why it's worth listening to podcasts with veterans, we asked the host of all conversations. “We will find in these stories a individual evidence of what the Polish Army has been doing all these years abroad”, says Agnieszka Drążkiewicz. “I think it will be interesting for us civilians that soldiers tell about how well or how badly they dealt with the emotions that accompanied them, how frequently they had to “pile them in their pockets” of the uniform, due to the fact that it was the task and “here and now” that mattered.”
