In Poland, the number of drug poisonings is increasing, causing large concern among doctors and paramedics. In 2024, as much as 40% more cases of poisoning were reported compared to 2023. Most cases are observed in Małopolska and Lubuskie voivodships.
According to the Central Sanitary Inspectorate (GIS), in 2023 1698 cases were poisoned by boosters in the Information strategy on Replacement and fresh Psychoactive Substances. In 2024, 2719 cases have already been reported, an increase of 40%. According to the diary Gazeta Prawna, the consequence of 2024 approaches the 2019 consequence erstwhile 2930 akin cases were reported.
The number of children being poisoned is peculiarly worrying. As many as 92 specified cases were reported in 2024. These data do not include alcohol and drug poisoning. Statistically, the most interventions concern men (67.5%). Highs most frequently scope people aged 30-39. In this group, the top increase in the number of poisonings was observed. Doctors are beating the alarm and talking about a real epidemic that needs peculiar attention and fast action.
