Deputy Prime Minister, National Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz signed a contract for the transportation of AIM-120D-3 missiles to F-35 multitasking aircraft. As he stressed, these are air-to-air missiles of the highest class, which will complement the weapons of these machines. The contract value is about 500 million net dollars.
The contract signed by the head of the MON, concluded between the governments of the Republic of Poland and the United States, concerns the transportation of guided air-to-air AIM-120D AMRAAM missiles to multi-purpose F-35 combat aircraft. A contract worth about $500 million provides for the transportation of 200 units to be completed between 2030 and 2030.
After signing the document, Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz stressed that this is another agreement with our ally – the US, which is an expression of close cooperation, and the decisions about the anticipation of purchasing equipment and the availability of state-of-the-art technologies follow. He stated that "we can talk of ourselves as the strongest ally of the United States in Europe, in NATO."
The head of the MON added that the AIM-120D, designed for multi-purpose F-35 aircraft, are top-class missiles and are a complement to the weapons of these machines. Kosiniak-Kamish reported that another seven F-35 aircraft, which is to scope the Polish Air Force, is already in the process of flying by Polish pilots and instructors trained in the USA. – Next year the F-35 will fly to Poland – the Deputy Prime Minister assured.
Deputy Minister Paweł Bejda explained that next year at least 11 F-35 aircraft will arrive in our country. The politician added that erstwhile the AIM-120D AMRAAM rockets scope Poland, we will have a set of Hussars and can integrate them. He besides said that the Armed Forces Agency is presently working on more than 500 contracts. These are contracts already implemented and those prepared for signature.
