A tumor weighing 5 kg, detected in the abdomen of a 70-year-old patient, removed surgeons of the Clinical Department of General and Oncological Surgery in the Provincial infirmary of Płock (Mazowieckie) – she donated the facility on Tuesday. The removed tumor was donated for further examination.
Informing about the procedure performed by a squad of clinicians of the General and Oncological Surgery Division, the Płocki Provincial infirmary Complex explained that a 70-year-old patient had been removed from the abdominal cavity “the size of a basketball ball for children, but weighing a medical ball” – it was 20 by 19 cm and weighed 5 kg.
According to the facility, the operation took place on July 10, with the man in whom it was performed in the 4th day after the surgery in good condition being discharged home.
