PLN 180 billion for the army. Gen. Kuptel: preparations for SAFE have continued since 2025

SAFE (Security Action For Europe) is simply a programme adopted by the European Union in late May 2025, allowing associate States to get up to EUR 150 billion of low-interest loans for the acquisition of military equipment and weapons, with a deadline of implementation by 2030. The biggest beneficiary of the programme is Poland, which was awarded EUR 43.7 billion, or over PLN 180 billion. Currently, following the adoption by the Sejm and the Senate, the Act introducing the Financial Instrument for safety Enhancement, a tool for implementing SAFE, is on the desk of president Karol Nawrocki.
