In 2 days' time, the prayer “Forgivement and Reconciliation” will be held in the Archaeology of St John the Baptist in Warsaw. It will be attended by the president of the Polish Episcopal Conference archbishop Stanisław Gądecki and the head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church archbishop Światosław Szewczuk. During this devotion a joint message will be signed, and the Polish-Ukrainian delegation will go on a pilgrimage of forgiveness and reconciliation to Ukraine.

Archbishop Stanisław Gądecki should know that forgiveness is possible after fulfilling respective conditions – regret for actions, confession and real redress. I can't see it or hear it.

We know all the words of the 1965 Polish bishops addressed to the German people "We forgive and ask for forgiveness". From the point of view of the magnitude of the harm suffered by our nation as a consequence of the invasion and occupation, I think it is highly premature. But it happened at a time erstwhile the full planet condemned the actions of Germany and everyone knew the scale of their savagery. The slaughter of our countrymen in the East by Bandera's countrymen has not heard much.

I believe that I have no right to forgive on behalf of the savagely murdered Poles. I think Archbishop Gądecki is, too.

By the way, I wonder erstwhile Polish bishops will get akin words of forgiveness for their own countrymen, thousands of those who had any part in strengthening and extending the government of the Polish People's Republic? erstwhile will the publically sipped hatred and call for revenge pass? Doesn't the hierarchical Church think it's time for a large reconciliation of Poles? possibly bishops would like to stick to the destroyed by Styrofoam nation alternatively of looking for applause outside Poland. possibly they'll call the PiS-ism Hunwabins to their senses?
